Financial Realities

Summary of TLC expenditure for 2009.



January 31, 2009: we have begun the year with a surplus of $49,336 - this, together with $80,000 of funds pledged, covers 57% of our 2009 budget - once again, a big thank you to the organizations and individuals who have supported us over the past year!



2009 Budget: $226,586 U.S.*
*In 2009, we will focus on:


  • expanding the coverage of our operations aboard the TLC1 thru an awareness program among village chiefs;

  • increasing TLC clinical capacity thru expanded use of volunteer health professionals;

  • introducing quarterly eye-care missions and other local specialist involvement;

  • developing a network of Village Health Volunteers (VHVs) within our target areas;

  • enhancing our relationship with government ministries;

  • bringing health ministry core activities to our target areas, via expanded cooperation with local health centers;

  • creating a drama group to assist in health education.
